Change Is Hard. Staying Stuck Is Harder.

Choley MacNaughton is the Founder and Director of Time to Change Consulting (TTC), a leadership and cultural consultancy committed to helping organisations evolve with intention. With more than 10 years of experience spanning executive coaching, strategic leadership development, team alignment, behavioural profiling, and organisational culture design, Choley is known for her ability to bring clarity, connection and courage to the heart of transformation. Her work sits at the intersection of leadership, wellbeing and systems thinking. Trained early in her career as a mental health nurse, Choley progressed into health management roles and ultimately executive leadership, where she developed a reputation for delivering change with both head and heart. Her clinical grounding instilled a deep understanding of human complexity—an insight that continues to shape her approach today. She brings a strong commitment to involving everyone who is at the heart of the decision making, ensuring that there is positivity, inclusion, diversity while strongly promoting mental health, psychosocial safety and emotional intelligence, particularly in high-pressure environments where psychological safety is critical to performance and innovation. Choley specialises in working alongside organisations, communities, and individuals to co-create better services, policies, and projects—then make them happen with care and precision. Choley has successfully partnered with clients across government, not-for-profit, sport, health, construction, education and corporate sectors. She is often engaged to lead interventions where leadership is fractured, morale is low, or cultures require realignment. Whether implementing Reconciliation Action Plans, conducting cultural reviews, or facilitating large-scale leadership development initiatives, her style remains centred on trust, curiosity, clarity and sustainable impact. Thrive Back: Return to Work Reintegration Program is one of Choley’s most meaningful and purpose-driven creations. Born from her deep commitment to human-centered leadership and lived experience supporting others through life’s most challenging transitions, this program was designed to walk alongside individuals returning to work after illness, injury, or life-altering events—such as cancer recovery or burnout. Blending compassionate coaching, inclusive leadership practices, and practical workplace strategies, Thrive Back supports both employees and employers to rebuild confidence, renew energy, and foster psychological safety. For Choley, this program reflects her belief that every return is an opportunity for growth—not just for the individual, but for the entire workplace culture.
Prior to founding TTC, Choley served in senior health leadership roles, including as Deputy Director of Nursing in the biggest Mental Health Hospital in the Southern Hemisphere, where she led teams through complex operational and cultural change. Her journey into consulting grew from a strong desire to move beyond traditional systems and offer organisations fresh, human-centred approaches to people development. Her breadth of experience enables her to translate strategic goals into meaningful, values-aligned behaviours at every level of an organisation.
Clients often describe Choley as someone who can walk into a room, quickly get to the heart of what’s happening, and help people see new possibilities. She is known for her ability to hold leaders to account while maintaining trust and respect. Her sessions are engaging and grounded—equal parts insight and action—delivered with warmth, humour and professionalism. She doesn’t shy away from the tough conversations but navigates them with skill, compassion and purpose.
Choley holds qualifications in Law, Mental Health Nursing, Professional Coaching, Business and Management, and Training and Development. She designs and facilitates programs that not only develop leadership capability, but also strengthen psychological safety, emotional resilience and team connection. Her work is deeply collaborative—tailored to the unique needs of each client—and always underpinned by real-world experience and evidence-based methodologies.
At its core, Time to Change Consulting is built on the belief that real transformation doesn’t come from quick fixes or tick-box strategies. It comes from honest conversations, aligned leadership, and the willingness to shift how people think, behave and relate to one another. When organisations commit to this kind of change, performance improves, trust is restored, and people begin to show up with purpose and pride.
Choley is most inspired by the moments when people exceed their own expectations—when they move beyond what is familiar and step into their potential. For her, change is not just a process. It’s a turning point. And with the right support, the right conversations and the right collaboration, she believes that every leader—and every organisation can thrive and embrace change,
If your organisation is ready to rethink how it leads, grows, and connects, now is the time to change
